Elder Joseph Cook

Pastor

Pastor Joseph Cook was born in Jarratt Virginia. He is the second of five children born to the Late Joseph and Sarah Lee Cook. Pastor Cook received his education in Greensville County school system. He also received a CDL license at John Randolph College with a, A and a P endorsement which allows him to drive tractor trailers and passenger bus. He also attended the W.L. Bonner College of Theology in Columbia South Carolina where he received an Associates Degree in ministerial studies. He also is very skilled and blessed in repairing automobiles and just anything else. He has worked for years as a maintenance man, tractor trailer driver, and a supervisor on several jobs.
He married the love of his life and his high school sweetheart Ulyssa. To this union they were blessed with four beautiful daughters, Latoya, Sharmika, Zenobia, and Sarah. They are also honored to have six grandchildren. RJ, Kamari, Amariah, KeeKee, Joseph, Teyonna.
Pastor Cook has been blessed to serve in the ministry under great leadership. He has also served as a member of brotherhood choir, usher, Deacon, a minister, an ordained Elder, an assistant Pastor at a church in South Boston Virginia, and now a Pastor.

Pastor Cook started a Bible study at one of the Elder Saints home and faithfully he was there every Tuesday night for Bible Study for 1 year. Then he started a Bible study at a Barbershop in Emporia it was called Shop Talk he faithfully had these services for 2 years. Then he received the call to go out and he began New Destiny Ministries at the Jacob and Mary Turner Family life Center in Emporia every Sunday. God has blessed there and almost 6 years later he is still going strong.
Pastor Cook has seen many signs and wonders during his time in the ministry. He believes in preaching in season and out of season. His goal is to be real for God and to live a life that is pleasing to him.

Lady Ulyssa Cook

Pastor

Ulyssa Cook was born in Albany New York, and she is the oldest of four children born to James and Linda Turner. She received her early education at Griffin Elementary in NY and then Greensville county schools in Virginia. She received her Practical Nurse License from Greensville High School in 1982. She also attended W.L. Bonner College of Theology in South Carolina were she is studying to minister to women. She also attended SVCC in Alberta, and she studied at the Rescue Squad in Sussex and received her EMT. Currently she is enrolled at Berean Light Bible Institute where she is gaining more knowledge of the bible.

Lady Elect Cook is married to her high school sweet heart and they were blessed with four beautiful girls. Latoya, Sharmika, Zenobia, and Sarah. She has six adorable grand babies Rj, Amariah, Kamari, KeeKee, Joseph, Teyonna. She truly enjoys family time and cookouts with her girls and the grands.

Ulyssa has had the honor and privilege in serving in church as an usher, Sunday school teacher, choir director for adult choir and youth choir. She has been the director of the youth choir, team leader for Minister and Deacon Wives Guile, team leader for Missionary, team leader for women council. She has one great hobby and that is music and for the past 16 years she has been a gospel disc jockey. She has worked at WPEX 90.9 Fm in Blackstone Virginia for 5 years and at WHLQ 105.5 Fm in Lawrenceville Virginia for 11 years she is known as DJ cookie.
Ulyssa has found great joy in her walk with the Lord and her relationship with Him has grown tremendously. My greatest desire is to encourage the body of Christ and help women see their value in god. Her Motto is if we can teach you then we can reach you.
